During the COVID-19 pandemic, there have been a lot of people working really hard to keep us all safe. So some kids from Victoria have decided its time to say thanks. They started something called the Thankyou Project Australia which is giving school kids all around Australia the chance to say a big old thankyou to someone who's been essential to them during COVID-19. They've been asking school kids across the country to send out letters of thanks to doctors, nurses, supermarket workers, delivery drivers, and all the other people who have kept them safe during COVID-19. NT ELECTION Territorians went to the polls over the weekend and after several days of counting votes, we've got a result. The Northern Territory's Labor party will be returning to government led by Michael Gunner. Not all the votes are counted yet, but Labor's claimed the 13 seats it needs to form a majority government. GAZA RAPPER An 11-year-old in Gaza's been making waves on the rap scene after a video of him rapping out the front of his school went viral, getting him millions of views and thousands of fans. Abdul mainly raps about war and hardship growing up in Gaza a territory people have been fighting over for decades. MCA Abdul's dream is to one day tour America as a professional rapper just like his favourite artist, Eminem. CROATIA DOGATHLON On the shores of Monty's beach in Croatia, people and their pets have been gearing up for an event like no other, the 4th annual Croatian Underdog Marathon! Among them big dog, little dogs, and other dogs of other sizes that aren't particularly of note. All 24 entrants in this dogathlon have to complete a gruelling and varied course. But it's not just a running competition, no, it's also a swimming competition! The whole purpose of the Dogathlon is to get people and their pets to bond with each other and to make new friends. __________________________________________ For the past 50 years, Behind the News has been helping to break down current issues and events for young people all around the world.
