Shardul Thakur’s performance fetched him praises from all over the cricketing fraternity. Thakur also owned the record of hitting the fastest Test fifty by any batsman on English soil. Thakur, who has been given the nickname ‘Lord’ by the cricket onlookers, opened up on his legendary nickname. In a video posted by the BCCI, Thakur asserted that he is happy with all the love he is receiving from everyone. Former wicketkeeper-batter Kamran Akmal has picked the Pakistan squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2021, scheduled to be played in the United Arab Emirates and Oman from October 18 to November 14. Akmal chose a bunch of 24 players, before trimming them down to 15. He opted the openers as Mohammad Rizwan and Sharjeel Khan, with skipper the senior trio of Babar Azam, Mohammad Hafeez and Shoaib Malik following in the middle-order. MS Dhoni is regarded as the most successful skipper across the world with all three ICC Trophies in his cabinet. The legendary cricketer ruled the world of cricket while taking India to various heights. Though he decided to draw curtains on his international career in 2020, he already bid adieu to the longest format of the game in 2014 while being on tour to Australia. Only after having 90 Tests under his belt, it looked quite surprising on his part to bid farewell to Test cricket. India’s current head coach Ravi Shastri opened up on this aspect and stated Dhoni’s decision to be absolutely ‘brave and selfless.’ Shastri added that it was true that the former legendary skipper wasn’t getting any younger but he could have stretched to level up his stats. He will still come under the top three fittest players on the team.
