Headlight HID bulb replacement on Ford Mustang 2013 - 2014 D3S

The driver side headlight on my 2014 Ford Mustang went out. Apparently the official method is to take the whole front bumper off, take the headlight assembly off, and work on them on a workbench. Or take it to the dealer, where they quoted me $240 for 2 hours of labor. There's a way you can access the unit from behind without removing the bumper. Once there, you'll have a hard time releasing and removing the old HID bulb due to a retaining clip, and installing the new one. This is what I will cover in this video. Note that most of the close shots in this video are upside down! Also, in the video I pronounce the bulb type incorrect, the correct type is D3S.

my own advice for anyone reading.
1)car 2)with your fingers again feel onto the bottom of the bulb device for the prongs he mentioned in the video. Push gently back and to the side, do twice for both sides of the device.
3) replace bulb, put prongs back into place the opposite way you removed them. You will know it latched on
4) reconnect the wire last to the bottom
on one side i had a longer wire than the other so on the shorter side it was a bit harder to grab onto the wire clip but eventually i got it in with multiple attempts. ...Expand 2
