@cwonderland62594 years ago You should try "half" cup and "demi" cup bras that only cover the lower part of the breast. Also, make sure the bra is the correct size and the cups aren't actually too big. 278

@NeverShoutSkylerr4 years ago Cassie you’re likely getting the gaping because you’re cup size is too large I would try to get a cup size down. I work at a bra store and have to measure so many people and fix their sizing when there’s stuff that’s not fitting right. The problem with the gaping is the cup not the band idk who told you that but that’s not right lol I don’t remember if you said you ordered DD or DDD but I’d try a D tbh bc you’re getting a lot of gaping so even going down two cup sizes would help I think (aaaahhh I know I’m repeating myself and rambling) I hope this helps at all and you find one you absolutely love ... 276

@emilyjohnson76674 years ago As someone who worked for Lane Bryant, and did bra fits for years, you definitely need to be fitted by an associate like you stated. One thing a lot of people don't know is that as you go up in band size, the cup goes up as well. So a 44C is actually bigger in the cup than a 34DDD. I'm guessing the 44C that you were getting would be a much better fit! Try the lightly lined balconette bra from LB, along with their lounge bras. They're amazing! ... 141

@TheLights0454 years ago I think your cup sizes are wayyyy to big. You're definitely smaller than a DDD. I'd say D? 166
  • @
@BeanSidhe19854 years ago "My boobs are inadequate for these bras."
No Cassie, it's the other way around: the clothes (or in this case: the size of the clothes) are the problem, not you! Triple D just wasn't the right size, that's all. ...

@mirimiriela4804 years ago If you go get fitted in person, I highly recommend Nordstrom!! They carry a wide range of sizes and brands so if one brand just isn't made for your body, another brand might fit better. I've always had good experiences with their staff too. ... 58

@leighann94254 years ago There is a subreddit entitles “a bra that fits” PLEASE go there and look at the sidebar for sizing help. They have a calculator that takes shape and stuff into consideration and the forum is super friendly and helpful. 73

@averyjennings62424 years ago I’d try a Demi cut bra! I’m a 38D and I have the same problem with my bras gapping on the top, especially full coverage bras. Demi bras don’t come up as high on the sides so they don’t gap on me. They still cover everything and I don’t ever feel like I’m spilling out of them. I’d defiantly try them out! ... 8

@mistytells4 years ago I learned from my mother, whom is gone now, that gaping means you gotta go down a cup size. Gaping means you're not filling the cup. Regular D, if that. 56

@rebeccawhiteside98854 years ago Wow! I just discovered your videos and wanted to say thank you!! I also have the same problem with bras and it is so hard to find a good fit. @rosemaryroach20564 years ago I use to do bra fittings at a lingerie store. If you’re going to go up in your band size you have to go down and least one cup size, sometimes two. Or vice versa.
For example, every time I try a new bra company, including when I tried Third Love’s bras, I get different sizes. I bought two 40 F’s and one 38 G just to see which one fit me better because I’m usually a 38 G but every brand fits differently. The 40 F’s from Third Love ended up fitting me better.
Try the brand Cuup next. They’re so nice. Their balconette bras are just..... chefs kiss

@jessicaweidler88294 years ago Don’t give up! The only way to know your true bra size is to try on many different sizes to find the best fit. Also one thing to note is that as the band size increases, the cup size increases with it. A 36DDD and a 44DDD have very different cup sizes. I also think an unlined bra might be the best fit to prevent gaping at the top of the cups. I typically shop at Nordstrom because they have so many options, but I had to order online because they don’t carry my size in store. I must have bought and returned 10-15 bras before I found my perfect fit. ... 1

@1105monkeybear4 years ago Hi Cassie I use to wear lane Bryant bras but they have changed through the years. I found that torrid bras fit me very well and are comfortable if you want to look into them.

@Bre44584 years ago Thank you for bringing us along in your journey to find the perfect bra for you. I'm always curious about what other brands have to offer. I currently use essential bodywear the Abbie bra. My problem is that it bows out to the side cause I'm often a little TOO full. But this brand really keeps them front and center. I wonder if they'd have a solution for you as well. Hmm. I saw some other comments that had mentioned to not go full coverage, I'd definitely muster up the courage to run to a store to try them on just so it doesnt take forever to order, pay, wait for shipping then to be disappointed and send them back. (But I'm very impatient!)
Thank you again for the video! I love seeing you try on clothes and what you think of them, as a midwesterner myself I think our fashion sense aligns

  • @
@Chantal_41074 years ago I really appreciate all the effort you went through to do this video! Thank you! I'm also going to join in with the general concensus that you need to go down a cup size, I'd say try a D or even a C. One of my gf's was shaped just like you and never could find bras that fit her properly until she got measured, but by a professional who told her that she needed to size down in the cup size because she had a broad upper back/side of her ribcage (And also size up on the band.) She thought a 44C would never fit her, and she was amazed at how much lift and comfortable fit she finally got because the band fit snuggly around her ribcage (just like these do on you) and the smaller cup meant that her breast tissue wasn't sitting at the bottom of the cups (also like you here). Her breast tissue was evenly distributed and shaped by the bra cups and she looked amazing! Even had cleavage popping on a demi-style cup.
Hope that helps! Defintely keep the band size, but try on smaller cups until you find the one that your breasts fill out fully :)
EDIT: I don't know if I explained that well, but online calculators tell you to measure the fullest part of your breast and also against the rib cage, and subtract one from the other and that tells you theoretically what cup size you should be... BUT... if one has a proportionally broader back or side of the ribcage, then that will skew the calculator. Also taking into account the mass of breast tissue and its distribution... ah heck, I'm sure you understand what I mean. Try a C or D!

@kathyhunter48614 years ago Hi Cassie! I know you said you dont want lining or padding but I'm wondering that would help with the fit? Maybe a cup that has more padding throughout instead of just at the bottom of the cups like most pushup bras have? Idk but thank you for sharing with us! Enjoying your channel ❤ ...

@Oonagh724 years ago Definitely try going into a Cacique. Also look at the Target measuring system. They ask questions like if you have gapping at the top. Also if you know a seamstress they can alter bras. Bras are foundation garments it would actually be worth the money to have a seamstress work on them for you. ... 5

@eileengonzalez30514 years ago Hi Cassie have you tried the Ashley Stewart butterfly bra? They are great. Pretty expensive but worth every penny.
  • @
@Larea814 years ago You are being such a good sport! Bra shopping can be so challenging. Changing band sizes really alters the size of the cup, so it gets even more complicated quickly. I have always struggled, so I empathize. I hope you find something that is comfortable and makes you feel confident! 💛💛💛 I think it would be so interesting to see a video where your ordered multiple sizes of the same bra, including the size indicated by the sizing chart, to see how accurate the charts actually are. It feels like they never work out for me personally... Just an idea! ... 1
  • @
@honeycone1114 years ago Your cup size is too big..
First measure properly... 1-measure under bust (me 32inch), 2-measure fullest circumernce of breast(me 39inch) />Now subtract 39-32 = 7... Now each inch is a letter... I'm a 32G. which sounds big for people uneducated abut bra measurements
Don't add inches to band size ! and the Cup letter is irrelavent, a 44C is bigger then a 30G.
    I recommend Figleaves,or Brastop !! awesome websites
great video ! xx have fun :)

  • @
@ashleybales70164 years ago Hey girl!! Size 1-2 cups down. That’s what I have to do with ALL lane Bryant bras. I am also low boob heavy. Sizing down a cup got rid of the gap problem and added support for me. 1
  • @
@andreapuschl63404 years ago I've measured costumers and sold bras for about 10 years, I can recommend zwo brands I have experiences with: Primadonna and Freya. If I had to guess your size I'd say it's european size 85D or 90C, with Freya maybe 38DD or 40D. It's harder to tell through the screen and with a shirt on though.
It's important to know that band and cup size are NOT independent, meaning that the cup size changes with the band size and automatically sizes up.
For example, if you tried a 38D bra and the cup fits, but the band is uncomfortably tight, you can't size up tp 40D because the cup will equal a 38DD or E, depending on the brand. You would need to pick 40C.
Do you have issues with the straps becoming to loose over time or the band riding up in the back?

@kristinsalinas52074 years ago Hi Cassie! I had a similar problem a while ago. I used to wear a 40DD, but then I gained weight and although the cups on the 40DD were ok, the band was too tight. So I figured that just going to a 42DD was my solution...uh, no! I had way too much baggage in the cup. I started watching some YouTube videos on bra fitting and found out that I should go up to a 42 for the band size but down to a D cup size instead of the DD. So, in essence when you go larger in band size, go lower in cup size or visa versa. This helped me find the perfect fit for me. I hope this helps! ❤️ ...

@morganpiekarski30204 years ago I’m a store manager at Torrid and I HIGHLY recommend our bras! A lot of women that have sworn by Lane Bryant bras have switched over to us. Our bra designer Vince has made not only made cute bras but also comfortable. We also offer a back smoothing bra in many different styles that are game changers. If the store is open by you we can’t physically touch you because of our new safety procedures but they should be able to teach you how to size yourself properly. As a plus size girl with a bigger bust I always struggled, but after 8 years of working there I haven’t ever looked back for a different bra than ours. Hopefully you have luck somewhere because I know how difficult it can be to find a proper fitting bra! ...

@rodemates4 years ago Hey Cassie, thanks for sharing this video with us. I feel your pain! Since my weight has fluctuated a lot in last couple of years my bra size has changed A LOT. I found out your bra size can change by gaining or losing as little as 10 lbs. Anywhos I still constantly struggling to find the right bra size since I'm on a very long diet. But yeah! My takeaway form it is that you should always measure yourself before buying bras if you've gained or lost more than 10 lbs. Also, I always look up the size chart for the brand because they are different from brand to brand! You would think they would all be the same but they are not. More madness! ...

@Letty44 years ago You and I are very similarly built and I wear 38DD at Victoria's Secret. People hate on them a lot and I get it. But boy those Body by Victoria bras fit me so well! It's so hard finding the right bras!

@susanstetson34354 years ago Cassie I have a very similar breast type where I get a lot of gapping at the top. I used to work in a lingerie department so I learned to measure a little differently then the websites show. It works really well for me to find bras online. I measure under my arms across my chest for band size and then across the broadest part and subtract the two numbers. Each inch is a cup increase. 3=C, 4=D 5=DD/E etc. I find that with my bottom heavy breast I do better with a less coverage cup like a balconette or a Demi cup.
Good luck on your bra journey!!

@evelineeveryday3384 years ago That striped shirt is so cute on you (hello hourglass shape!). And the MEOW necklace aaaah I love it! But girl, you said your body does not work with these bras - that's the wrong way around. The bras are at fault here, the bras don't work (at least in that size), your body is great! ... 24

@robyn87684 years ago I’m really digging torrid 360 bras. It’s very flattening to the back fat. I got one with no underwire. Super cute Nd comfy. Sometimes I forget I’m wearing it.

@harrisonrose91104 years ago I’m stuck with only having three or four bras I can wear because the cup size just doesn’t go up large enough. I suggest going to have a fitting done. There used to be a place here in Dallas that would do fittings and then they would sew on the Bra and make it for you. But they know what bras to pull for your shape and size ...

@head_huntress4 years ago I wear a 38 G and wear a lot of Lane Bryant. I like the soft cups, but they tend to run a little smaller than the padded cup. My absolute favorite brand is Elomi. They have UK sizing but I still wear a 38G.

@stacyr37434 years ago Cassie. Try the Olga butterfly effect bras on amazon. I’m a 36ddd and can never find my size in stores, so online is super easy. These ones are comfortable, full coverage and unlined.
