The one-day Assembly Session has seen a heated argument ultimately forcing Speaker Rajesh Patnekar to name the Opposition MLAs and later marshals escorting them out of the house. As announced earlier united opposition has remained firm over their demand of having a discussion over pandemic crisis before any other business. Vijai Sardesai and CM Sawant had an exchange of heated arguments after Vijai alleged that a student committed suicide over online education. CM Sawant has clarified that it was not due to online education. However, later when the government went ahead to present the budget, the opposition MLAs ran into the well shouting slogan and disrupting the proceedings. Taking action over opposition MLAs for disrupting proceedings, Speaker Rajesh Patnekar named them and asked marshals to escort them out of house. Taking the issue ahead United Opposition have reached Raj Bhavan to meet Governor Satya Pal Malik after speaker disallowed the adjournment motion moved to discuss Covid-19 situation in the state. United Opposition has submitted a representation to Goa Governor stating that Goa government has murdered democracy by rejecting discussion on Covid pandemic and passing state budget 2020-21 without proper discussion in Goa Legislative assembly. They have also demanded President’s rule in the state.
