@elainehill59319 months ago I disagree with you. I don’t find the keto diet depressing. I’ve lost 25 lbs, normalized both my blood pressure and blood glucose. I feel better, look better and sleep better. Super happy not at all depressed about eating low carb. ... 83

@RedDevil_Joe8 months ago For the people who are significantly overweight and have some level of insulin resistance, which will be basically all of them, it does way more than just calorie counting. Both during and more importantly in the long run. But yes it is very restrictive, if you give it time it just gets easier and easier ... 7

@trinityfitnesslifestyle9 months ago I’ve lost 70 pounds on keto and I thought at first that it would be hard to sustain in the long run. But a year and a half in and I can’t imagine going back to carbs and protein with low fat. Low fat high carbs sounds so depressing to me 😂. I eat about a pound and a half of beef a day with some dark chocolate, PB, some yogurt with blueberries in it as a preworkout. I take vitamins and i do carb cycle here and there but I mostly save my carb days for when I’m at a gathering I won’t restrict myself from eating what I want but I pay for it the next day, which makes me realize how inflamed our bodies actually are but we’ve just built up a tolerance to it with sugar literally being in everything we eat and drink 🙄. All to say I would recommend everyone to try keto atleast once. ESPECIALLY if you struggle with sugar cravings which I did. Not anymore. ... 9

@ramonlopez26839 months ago I did Keto for years and it work great for me, but you have to be able to adhere to it. It isn't some magic bullet that will magically remove the need to track your caloric intake. I would say that the biggest lesson i learned from Keto was how many unnecessary sugars are in our everyday food. ... 42

@georgelux1269 months ago The keto diet is probably the most efficient way to lose fat. Whether you can stand giving up carbs varies by person, but a fat and protein diet gives you long term energy and satiety making it easier to handle a calorie deficit. ... 5

@connorhimself849 months ago Carbohydrate addiction is real, people need help. This is bad advice. A calorie is not just a calorie, and starving yourself into a calorie deficit is a preposterous way to go about your nutrition. We have moved past this. Most people, when surveyed, recognize carbohydrates as the cause of obesity and metabolic syndrome.
Ketosis is the proper metabolic state for humans. It is the most successful diet at curing chronic disease and promoting longevity according to true randomized studies.
It is the only diet which recognizes our body's physiology at a macro and cellular level, and leverages the metabolism. We are designed to fast for long periods and be in ketosis most, if not all of our lives.

@angelinaprunster88929 months ago I do keto and it makes me feel great, but I make sure to carb cycle every few months to prevent insulin resistance in the future (I usually gain a few pounds at first but its stabilises after my body is used to carbs and comes off easily when I go back on keto) . As long as your actually conscious about your calories and the types of fat you consume its a great tool! But there isn't enough quality studies to prove it can be a sustainable lifestyle. ... 2

@Tontoquienloleation9 months ago That's true, but if you count calories on keto you'll realise that you can eat more and the things you eat are more satiating. Also I tend to go overboard with sugary snacks. That's why it's easier for me to be on a calories deficit when I'm on keto. ... 2

@oniondesu96336 months ago i agree, tried keto years ago, and while i loved eating the foods in that diet, you cant have cheat days cause it'll knock you out of ketosis for days. makes it impossible for you to eat with other people and makes you panic about everything you eat. a more traditional healthy diet is much easier to stick to, and falling off the wagon for a day or two won't be the end of the world. ...

@miker16453 months ago The health benefits of keto are so much better though. Improved insulin, better mood, improved Sx drive, yeah you can't eat out or push for PRs in the gym. But it's a quick fix if you do it for 12 weeks, even better if you get your calories low enough to drop fat yet enough to function. salt will be the saving grace when you feel like death on keto. ... 1

@ManOfThePeople754 months ago Keto has been amazing for me. I've lost 21 pounds in a short period of time. My back pain has subsided (assuming due to lack of inflamation). My appetite is under control. My energy levels are way up. I've suddenly become a morning person. I've also kept a calorie deficit, which is difficult to reach the amount of calories due to feeling full after meals. I'm happy I didn't give up. ...

@Hannah24954 months ago I’ve done keto for a whole 3 days and already see a change not in my body but in my cravings. I was always a big sugar person and I’ve had no craves for sugar since I’ve started, it’s kinda unbelievable.

@terraprisma15729 months ago I disagree, carbs spike up your insulin therefore you can't lose weight, by cutting them off you can reverse insulin resistance and your body will start using stored fat for energy 2

@subhan_048 months ago The keto diet, short for ketogenic diet, focuses on high fat, low carbohydrate intake. By drastically reducing carbs, the body enters a state called ketosis, where it burns fat for energy instead of glucose. This can lead to weight loss and improved insulin sensitivity. A typical keto meal includes avocados, meats, fish, eggs, nuts, and leafy greens, while starchy foods and sugars are avoided. While some find success with weight loss and increased energy, it's important to consult a healthcare professional before making major dietary changes. Individual results vary, and maintaining proper nutrient balance is key for long-term health.

@cjolley33412 months ago I calorie restricted and gained weight. So I thought I needed to cut more calories and still gained weight. I got down to about 800 calories a day and gained even more weight! I ended up 30 lbs heavier doing all that crazy crap. I went on keto and lost 3 dress sizes in a month! Sure, I can’t eat pasta but eating keto is easier than eating NOTHING but lettuce and broccoli. ...

@catabol9 months ago Keto just didn't work for me- Low mood, low energy, etc. It just had one upside, can't say I don't miss that one: It has a strange ability to completely suppress hunger. I've never felt hungry for the several years that I was on the diet. The feeling was just not there. You can't have your cake (or, for a keto person, beef) and eat it, too, I guess 😅 ... 7

@timothysmith93298 months ago Faulty advice. Keto isn't about losing water weight in two weeks and quitting. It is about reversing insulin resistance which is caused by the typical diet today which as far, far too many carbs. Reversing insulin resistance will allow your body to finally use up the trillions of calories that most are perpetually storing because insulin is a hormone that stores excess energy as fat. But when you are insulin resistance, it stores fat too easily and you wind up being tired along with many, many other problems, and then you get hungry again despite having just eaten a few hours ago. When you are actually in Ketosis, which you probably won't be after just two weeks, you no longer having the cravings for carb and sugar rich foods, you crave fatty meat. You don't need to count calories, just eat until you're not hungry and stop. Over time you will be able to reduce from 2-3 meals per day down to one meal per day - and you will have the sharpest mind, least hunger, and most energy that you have ever had in your life. Why? Your mitochondria in your cells will have finally been repaired. You need to remove nearly all highly processed vegetable fats from your diet, eat butter, ghee, lard, rendered fat instead. Or on a salad, use virgin olive oil. By eating real food, primarily fatty meat, and a bit of good organic vegetables, organic eggs, sausage, bacon, etc. you are completely satisfied, your skin looks better, your blood sugar goes down, if you have diabetes or pre-diabetes, you can get back to a normal blood glucose level and over time revers all the problems caused by high blood sugar and high insulin and cortisol levels. ...

@joku12029 months ago Carbs and protein have different thermodynamic effects in the body. Your body literally uses more heat to process protein, which burns calories. So 2000 calories worth of protein and fat is certainly not the same as 2000 calories of carbs and fat.
Keto is also much more satiating because the affects of protein and fat don’t trigger addictive responses like carbs do (as they convert to glucose).
All that said…. I’m having some pizza tonight 😂

@fallowbird69049 months ago Ok there are ppl who get results by keto but there are many that get health issues by it,
I know yall gonna scream at me but from a personal experience, my aunt had tried it and she did lose weight at was on her ideal weight but she lost ALL OF her hair and she couldnt eat carbs which effected her body aswell as her metabolism got much slower and now if she ever eats carbs like if she wanted a bit she gained all that weight back.
Keto might work for some ppl out there, im just saying its NOT for everyone as you can miss out the joy and health of eating carbs out there as carbs are especially very imp for females.
So before starting these types of diets, plz be careful and do according to your body needs as many famous chinese ppl have lost there lives because of these restrictive diets.
So i would also say a caloric defict is a much better option.
    Stay safe Yall😊
