"This video explains a portion of my honors thesis in cognitive science "A deep learning approach to understanding real-world scene perception in autism." My research in the Robertson Lab uses deep learning, virtual reality, and eye-tracking to understand how individuals with autism experience the visual world. By understanding real-world visual perception in autism, we can build better models of the brain mechanisms that cause sensory sensitivities, inform autism diagnoses, and create a more sensory-friendly society."
