This video is to demonstrate the operation of a vintage jukebox. Our summerhouse at the bottom of our garden is where I keep my two vinyl jukeboxes. Both are in excellent condition, for their ages.  A 1976 Rock-Ola 468. contains 30, 50/60s, 30, 70/80s Pop, 10 Doo-Wop and 10 Standards, including some big band recordings. It's representative of those tunes I liked from my youth. Both boxes have the records in their carousels in alphabetical order of artists' Christian, or Groups, names. That's just me. The 1969 Rock-Ola 443 has 50 Motown and some what many people think is Motown, I've tried to make this one representative of the sixties. I've had both jukeboxes for over ten years, but I hadn't bought any records for years until recently. I thought that "girl groups" were a bit under represented. The chrome on this machine is in perfect condition Now the problem is that if you want to put in a new record then you have to take one out. A difficult decision as I've about thirty extra records, including some good ones, that have served their time in either box over the years. You could say there are certain records you "must" include, but when you check the popularity meters, they aren't always ones you play that much, so they are candidates for "relegation.". This present record wasn't even much of a hit, it only crept into the Billboard top 40 at the beginning of the sixties. But I noticed an excellent copy was available on eBay recently, so I bought it. Poor Patty disappeared with very little trace after this, but as a tune I like it as it's quite cheerful. It's liked by some Northern Soul enthusiasts, not something as a culture, I was ever into. As well as playing and listening to these oldies, half the fun is keeping these ancient machines going. This was recorded on my Little Lumix DMC TZ60 camera, which will take short videos with sound, but could never do these audio of these machines justice.
